MUG BROWNIE

TOMATO ONION CHUTNEY

Ingredients : Red onion-2,  tomato-1(big), curry leaves.
Chop the onion and tomato as big chunky piece.
Method: heat a pan, add little oil,  throw the onion, curry leaves(4) and tomato. Stir well, when it softens ( or until the raw smell goes away) add salt, a pinch of turmeric powder and 1 table spoon chilli powder. (If you like it spicy add more chilli powder. I used a combination of chilli and kashmiri chilli powder). Turn  off the gas when the raw smell goes & allow it to cool. Then transfer to mixer grinder and make it a fine paste. Take a small saucepan pour coconut oil. When hot put mustard seed and 3-4 curry leaves. Switch off the flame and pour it in to the chutney mix and mix well.
Alteration from Catherine: 1)1big red onion-sliced thickly in dices
2)a little of imly(tamarind)
3)1-2pcs dried red chilli
4)2 stalks curry leaves
5)a little mustard seed
Heat a pan with little oil, and fry the imli and red chilly , till fragrant, add red onion. Fry till the onion changes
colour to little reddish at some places.
Put off heat, let cool.
Grind in grinder till paste.
Splutter a little mustard seed and curry leaves for tadka to the paste. Add to paste, add salt to taste. Mix and serve. Can be served chill too with dosa
